Does anyone know of any charter companies that have catamaran's, not the large mega cat's but smaller ones (40' or so). We'd love to do a cat sail but don't want to be shooved onto one of the mega cats with 50 other people. 😎

Try Scubadu - beautiful cat for a private day sail - holds up to 6 people

You could also try Calypso. www.calypsovi.com. Great company. I've sailed with them twice. Wonderful Captain and Crew. Ask for Sheree and tell her Fran from Michigan referred you! Have a great time! 😎

REF: SCUBADU

She is foreign-flag so she can carry 12 passengers.

There are 3 of us but I don't care if it's 6 or 12 I just don't want massive, 25+ people. I think it takes away from the quiet serene experience, we're not into the "parting" of the large boats. I've checked the website and will contact both companies. Thanks for the info.

If Scubabdu is a foreign flag she is not likely to be allowed a USCG multi-passenger Inspected Vessel Certificate to carry more than 6 passengers. That is only my understanding; so I will learn and read the posts .

From what I have read, being foreign-flag allows her to carry twelve (12) passengers for hire in U.S. waters. If she wants to carry more than twelve (12) passengers for hire in U.S. waters, she needs a USCG Certificate. We can all thank our politicians and lawmakers for this one. Really puts a burden on the six packers and the U.S. flag boats who carry more than six (6). In addition, the USVI is exempt from the Jones Act. Talk about a triple wammy!
