Have invested in a variety of Carribean music CDs to get me in the mood for my upcoming trip. I've found that it's also a very good way to begin learning about island culture. I had no idea that there were so many unique musical forms that were invented by artists in various parts of the Carribean. I must say that I love the music and look forward to hearing some of it first hand.
A question: Does anyone know if the rental cars usually have CD players or not?
Good question but I expect you will get answers that some do and some dont!. Our Jeep last year was an older one and didn't have CD player, so we didn't take any CD's w/ us this year...so wouldn't you know it we got a newer Jeep and it had a CD player,,,I suppose you could ask ahead of time but in the long run it didn't matter to us at all.
We usually bring CD's and cassettes along with us so we're not disappointed when we pick up the car. The last several yrs the cars we rented have had CD players. Do bring your Carribean music along with you as it is hard to find live Carribean music on the island anymore. It is really missed.
trying to track down some good music for my stay on stj. any suggestions on some real good island mood music would be greatly appreciated. Marley etc.
Hello rjimmie,
There is a thread from a few months back where lots of folks added their favorite island mood music. Here is a link to it https://www.vinow.com/wwwtalk/read.php?4,45812,page=1.
