We'll be arriving via cruise ship in STT on April 24. We were planning on renting a vehicle for the day. I noticed on the Carnival Schedule, the steel pan band competition starts at 7:00 pm. My question is, are our plans to rent a vehicle in the morning to tour STJ and STT, and returning to the cruise terminal by 4:00pm feasable?

You are asking too much of yourself to see STT and STJ in one day. You will spend all of your time in a car and on a ferry rather than see what either island has to offer. Pick one and go with it. You can always come back for the other on the next vacation! 🙂
