The Virgin Islands are very personal to me. The first time I visited in 1994 was to research my great grandmother, who was born in St. Thomas in the late 1800s, the daughter of freed slaves -- she immigrated to Puerto Rico in the early 1900s to find work and eventually found work as a house servant with an affluent family in Ponce. My first trip to VI in 1994, I stayed at a B&B in St. Thomas, where I went cross-eyed in the public library examining microfiche as my little sister was enjoying the beaches (I enjoyed my time as much as she did). She did manage to drag me out for a daytrip to Saint John, where I have to admit I found my soul. My husband and I honeymooned in St. John in '98, and I am so grateful we are returning this April for ten days.
I'm renting a house out in Coral Bay for the last six days of our trip, but am searching for accommodations for the first 4 days of our return.
After perusing vinow.com, I contacted Carribean Villas, and they are offering us Carib View Condos #8. Does anyone have any insight into the accommodations? I'm inclined to stay there, but I'm trying to avoid a negative experience ... thanks. Joanna
