Hi-
I have seen a number of posts about car rentals but have a question. I'll be with a group of 6 and will be on St John in June. Any suggestions or advice on whether we should rent a car on STT or wait until we get to STJ? We can receive a small discount if we book on STJ but it looks as though rentals are cheaper on STT as long as they allow the cars to go over to STJ. Thanks!!!
This is a personal thing if you don't mind chance of a having to pay to get a broken down car back to STT But what ever you do jent 4 whell drive of some kind.
As you mentioned, rental car prices on St. Thomas tend to be cheaper than those on St. John. Some of the agencies allow their vehicles to be taken over to St. John, however if something were to happen and you needed road side assistance from the agency this isn't easily available and as Waterguy noted you might be responsible for getting the car back to STT. It seems to work out fine for most. You should get the details from the agency you were thinking of using regarding their policies for road side assistance if you take the car to St. John, then you can decide what you want to do.
