Could someone please rank the best overall car rental agencies in Cruz Bay? I would prefer those with parking available in town.
I am looking to rent a vehicle for myself and my fiance for June.
We have only rented from Conrad Sutton's twice, have used no other one so I can't rank them but these folks were easy to deal with and the little Suzukis we got from them ran just fine. We're coming back in Nov and will definately call them again to reserve in advance although our two previous trips we just walked in with no trouble getting an on the spot reservation.
We used C & C Car and Jeep Rental, Cruz Bay (340/ 693-8164). Unless you get someone saying 'stay away from XYZ', I think you will find all of the agencies are similar in price and service.
One word of advice is do not come to STJ expecting Hertz Gold Club Member attention or service. I have read other posts where the writer obviously expected the agency to know 'who I am' and really role out the red carpet. Good customer service is to be expected but it is a 2 way street on STJ. Things run on island time and besides, you don't have a plane to catch anyway so slow down and relax.

Parking in town, very easy to work with - call them and they just take your word that you will be there when you say you will. They don't take a cc number or anything. If you arrive on the weekend or at night, you just return the next day (or Mon if you arrive Sat or Sun) and fill out the paperwork. Great people.
We used Conrad Sutton. This is a family run business and they take special care of their customers. They did not inspect the car o return so the various blemishes I was worried about did not matter.
Ask for Carmen. She went to school in Atlanta, GA and is very friendly and helpful. although she looks 22 she is actually 31. OOPS, don't tell her I said that.

Great to work with. Good tires and wonderful service. Talk to Josephine or Greg Edwards. They have a small lot but we could always get a spot every time we were in Cruz Bay. Short walk to all the stores and ferry.

We have been going to St. John twice a year for about 8 years now. We always rent from Conrad and Gladys. They are great to rent from. Can't say anything about anyone else, because they are the only ones we have ever rented from.
