I saw the info on Discount Car Rental in the other post, does anyone have any recent info on Dependable? Are they still going downhill? How does their pick up from the airport work? Thank you
The majority of my guests have used either Budget or Dependable Car and have been quite satisfied.
Budget is at the airport location.
Dependable picks you up at the airport to take you to their location to get the car. You call them upon arrival to let them know you are there.
As I meet guests to show them the way to my vacation rental, I have found Dependable to be just that, along with being courteous, helpful and friendly. Plus, it doesn't take them as long to pick you up and get you out the door to start your vacation as Dollar Rental. This is great for me as I don't wish to hang around waiting for guests to get picked up and get their rental for 2 hrs. after arrival! You take the car back to their location and they drive you to airport so very accommodating.

Rented from Dollar and was very unhappy. We reserved a Jeep and when we arrived we got a Toyota with bald tires. I called them a week before we left to confirm that we would have a Jeep and they said yes! Apparently it is first come first served. Reservations do not matter to Thrifty/Dollar Rental. We will never book through them again. I suggest Amalie Rental, they have lots of Jeeps!
