hello, recent V.I. visitors!
I'm a Virgin Islands Daily News reporter wondering whether any of you had problems getting a rental car during your visit over the Christmas holidays -- particularly on St. John. I understand it's a chronic issue at certain times of the year, but since the period has passed, it's hard to find people still on the island who experienced this headache. If you did, please do drop me an e-mail as soon as you can so we can chat about it; bringing this issue to public attention ideally will improve the situation for future visitors.
Thanks in advance for your help!
we've used dependable car rental the last few times (within the past 6 months), and have never had a problem
We arrived on Christmas Day in St. Thomas and luckily we had a rental reservation at Budget. From the looks of the lines there were more people than cars.
We rented from Cool Breeze and they were great.
If you're on a cruise ship and you come into Havensight, you're directed to either Budget or Avis. If they're out of cars, NOBODY will direct you to others (Tri-Island, for instance) in the area. The taxi drivers become vultures when they find out Avis/Budget are out!
