What is the best car rental company on St.John? Reliability, service, rates, parking in Cruz Bay?

Mujz...we always rent from Budget at the airport. Just works out better for us. We usually hit the grocery store before catching the car ferry over to STJ. When we are leaving...my wife stands in line at the airline counter while I run over and turn in the car. We have been doing this for a few years nows and works out best for us. As for parking over in Cruz....we usually find something even if it is down past the cemetary.

We've always used either St John Car Rental or Penn's and have always been very satisfied with both. We've been using Penn's most recently. Both have parking available in Cruz Bay---actually, they don't guarantee parking, but welcome you to use their lot if there's space. Most car rental prices on STJ are pretty comparable.

We have used Courtesy Car Rental and have been very pleased with them. We would be allowed to use their parking lot - but it's so tiny - I couldn't imagine any spaces being available- and since we stay at Gallows, we never need to drive into town anyway....

I have seen many good reviews for Cool Breeze, St. John Rental, Conrad Sutton and some others. From what I have seen, all of their prices for weekly rentals are the same.

I see that InLoveWithStJohn chooses to rent in St. Thomas - and it evidently works well for him... I would not want to do that for fear if something happened to the car while on St. John - I'd be out of luck.... I also don't want to have to deal with the car ferry - as I have often heard it can be problematic at times.

Best of luck....

ENJOY!!
