Does anyone know of any promotion codes for car rentals. I have a few, but not found any great deals!
You can probably stop trying. I have looked for years and NEVER found one that worked well for the Virgin Islands. You might get a very few dollars per day off, but that's it. Just accept that you're going to pay $40/day for a little turd car or $65 for a jeep and enjoy the islands!
I generally go through an airlines website and use the rental car partner codes listed. You can link to the rental agencies from there. When I've compared the cost of renting with or without that partner code I can see that there is definitely a difference in price. I suggest going to a website of an airline in whose Frequent Flyer program you are a member so you can get the miles in addition to the discount. You can also look to see if there are any special coupons for additional miles. You can't use the coupon in your reservation, but if you bring the coupon or the coupon number with you they will most likely apply it if it is in effect at the time you travel.
I go through American Airlines, use the partner code K817100 for Avis (which always seems to be cheapest for me for my travel time). I get 50 FF miles per day and often get a double miles coupon on top.
This year, for my 2-week trip in August, I tried Avis, Hertz and Budget through the American Airlines site, as well as Dependable and Discount. None gave me a price below $510 except for Avis, which was $490 (all fees, taxes included in that price.) I got this deal back in October.

Thanks for you help. I went to ebay and typed in car rental - it is amazing what you find. I paid 3.96 for codes and I did save 60.00 on a van rental from hertz.
