The parade starts at 10am and we arrive at 11;30am - will we be able to get around the parade?

Yes. The parade route on both Friday and Saturday is one road back from the waterfront so the main road (Veterans Drive) will be relatively clear. There's always the option of going "over the mountain" which is an easy drive and if you're traveling by taxi the driver may decide to take that route. If you're picking up your own rental car then the agency can advise you but I've driven several times along the waterfront while the parades have been going on and it's not been a problem at all (only if you're trying to find a place to park to join in the fun!).

HA! The parade probably won't start until after your arrvial.
All my years here, have yet..............to see a single parade start on time. EVER!
Your taxi driver will take the route most convenient to him and all the others you shall be sharing the cab with. good luck,
