Will be in St. John in mid-Jan. and am trying to decide between Caneel and a villa. Only have less than a week (Fri-Weds). Is that a problem with a villa? My wife and I like to sit on the beach, relax and drink tropical drinks. I believe Caneel has a couple of beaches with bars, but I'm guessing the rest of the island is bring your own. Any suggestions on places to stay?
Thanks!
While I have come onto this board touting villas over hotels (we stayed at Caneel many years ago), I would suggest Caneel in your case due to short duration. You will get the extras Caneel offers without having to set up for a week in a villa. If you don't mind spending the money and it is your first time to STJ, Caneel is a very nice choice. Make sure you rent a car and get out to see the rest of the island.
One thing is for sure, you will have a great time and will start planning a return trip before you leave.
Wait, that's two things...
You know, there are a lot of villa touters on these boards, but you have to ask yourself...Do I want to fix breakfast, do the dishes, make the bed, etc. or do I want to have that stuff done for me? 😉 There are all kinds of vacations for all kinds of people!
i agree if it is less than a week just sit back and enjoy....the one thing caneel still does have is a couple of gorgeous beaches...try and get a room right on the beach
