I would appreciate some advice. I am very concerned about the rash of criminal activities on St John. I really hate that this is happening on paradise. I had wanted to come to St John without having to worry too much about looking over my shoulder constantly. I am wishing I had made plans to go somewhere else at least until these criminals have been apprehended. I have already mailed my payment to the villa we are staying at, we havent spoke on the phone or anything, just contact via email. They do not allow any refunds for cancellations less than 60 days from arrival. The check has not cleared the bank yet. I was thinking about putting a stop payment on the check. If anyone has any advice on doing this, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

I too just got back from staying at Mandavilla in St.John
and we were not threatened at all. All the locals were
wonderful and we even stood by a baseball field and watched a
local game for a bit.
I was very fearful about going as I read about the crime
situation, but again when I arrived I never noticed anything
out of the ordinary, just very friendly people. Again,
just use common sense.....
