Stacy from Ceremonies of St. John suggested I contact your site for some much needed assistance. I was married on St. John September 2 and we had dinner at Café Roma that night. My purse fell on the floor, several people helped pick things up and I had what I thought was my Sony Cybershot but when I got home the camera had a few old pics that were obviously not mine. So…the bottom line is someone has my camera with ALL my wedding photos (and pictures of my kids and grandson). How can I get the word out that, if they have the wrong camera to contact me and we’ll trade? I don’t care about the camera but the chip with the photos is priceless.

I have short auburn hair, my husband is tall and athletic. We have pictures of us on Hawksnest in our wedding outfits, I have a wreath of flowers in my hair and we're holdng a sign. There's also ppictures of me with my son and grandson.

Thanks for any help – I’m counting on the kindness of you folks to make this a happy ending!

Have you contacted the owner? I would try him first, I believe that they are closed but I can get in touch with him on FB if you need me too.
Send me a private message here and I will see what else I can do to help

My husband spoke to the manager the next day but stated he knew nothing about a camera. I don't know the owner's name or info so if you could help me make contact I would really appreciate it!

I contacted John and he said that he has not been contacted by anyone about the mix up, except for someone the next day, which I assume would be your husband but that the restaurant is now closed on vacation so if anyone tried, they would not be able to reach them, so you may want to try back in October.

You can also try Connections to see if anyone contact them, they are a general message center for the island.
Sorry I could not be of more help.

Did you try the police station? 340-693-8880 Hopefully who ever picked up your camera saw your pictures, can tell that they are important, and is looking for you too. You can call Connections and ask, their number is 340-776-6922. I would suggest posting on the other two popular forums, www.virgin-islands-on-line.com and www.tripadvisor.com (go to the St. John VI forum) as well as post something on Craig's List.

The owner of Cafe Roma may be able to check the charge slips of the dinners that were there when you were there. It's kind of a long shot, but sometimes you can get a clue. They don't always have customer names, and even if you could get a name, it still would be hard to find the people.

Hope you find it!!! I will check the board at Connections for you and see if I see anything posted up there.

Thanks so much! I'm new to message boards and haven'tgotten onto the other sites or been able to call Connections. If I could just get the chip or if someone would download the pics into an accessible site I'd be ecstatic!

We miss STJ already

Karen

I know it's a long shot, but there are a bunch of 'lost and found' camera sites out on the www. On flickr.com, there is http://www.flickr.com/groups/lost_and_found_cameras/ and http://www.flickr.com/groups/cameralost/

There is also http://www.camerafound.com/ and other photo sites like Picasa and Webshots probably have groups like this. Here is a google search that may be useful:
http://www.google.com/search?q=lost+and+found+camera&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&ie=utf8&oe=utf8&rlz=1I7GGLL_enUS299

But remember, it's the wild internet out there and there may be scammers lurking who can 'help you' so be a little careful.

Good luck!

I've been checking the board at Connections and no luck yet. Did you try calling the police station?
