Is this restaurant still in business on St. John? In the past I have gone there many times but have not heard anything as of late.

Hi Musicman, My wife and I were in St. John 2/6-2/13 we didn't go there but walked by several times and it looked open. The street level never opened but the 2nd floor seemed to be open.

Just happened to see this post from 2-25-06, the Cafe Roma was the first place I ever ate at on STJ on my first visit in 1977, yes it was operating way back then.

I have not missed going there on every trip since, missed a few years to the island, but have always had one meal there. It was about the only place back then, alongwith what was the original Gallows Point which consisted of 5 -6 cottages.

Much has changed.....

Cafe Roma is one of our very favorite places to eat in STJ. It's one of the best kept secrets on the island. So shhhhh! Don't tell anyone.

Cafe Roma is alive and thriving. The food is great but it can get be a little busy and noisy (reminds me of a New York Restaurant). St. John has a number of other good restaurants. If anyone remembers Paradiso is had just turned into an Italian restaurant. and I mean literally just turned as in this past weekend.

Still same location across street from Connections, upstairs, still one of the better places if you are not high maintenance.

It was the first place I ate at on STJ on my first visit in 1977 or was it 1978, island time has a way of clouding the past.

Never miss having at least one meal there.
