We have only one day to spend on STX and have never been, so we want to explore to the max. We thought the best way might be to hire a cabbie. Any recommends or do you think a rental car would do it.???
Hi,
Are you coming in by plane or boat? I am not sure if the rental companies all do a single day rental but some may and will pick you up or drop off the car, (if you are coming by plane they are at the airport). I would go for a car rental as it will probably be less money, unless you get stressed out driving ,(on the left) in a unfamiliar area. There is a lot to do in only a day so you may want to make a list and narrow it down so you enjoy fewer things more and don't spend the whole day driving from point to point. Although you may enjoy just rambling around the island and enjoying the scenery. If you are arriving by boat there are beaches and restaurants in the dock area that walking or a cab would be fine for, also if you want to spend the day in Christiansted walking about, a cab to and from would be easy. Not sure what day you will be there but make sure things are open before you head over.
Have fun!
I rented a car in STX for one day. There is one by the airport and the Seaplane which was walkling distance for us staying at Hotel on the Cay. I booked it thru EXPEDIA for the best price. We picked up car at SEAPLANE and then dropped it off at the airport. We drove out to POINT UDALL......great!
