I will be coming to STJ in October. I would like to take a side trip to the BVI's--the bath's at Virgin Gorda, lunch on Cooper Island, a snorkeling excursion, and then some cocktails on Jost seems to be the itinerary on most day trips. I was thinking of going on a power boat vs. a sail boat to expedite the travel times.
Any recommendations on who to book with?
A powerboat is the best way to go, then the ferry, then sail. These are my 3 favorite powerboat trips to the BVI. The first 2 are just about tied, with the last one a close 2nd.
1.) New Horizons II www.newhorizonscharters
2.) Captian Nautica www.captainnautica.com
3.) Limos Charters www.limnoscharters.com
Also Pirate's Penny/Stormy Petrel. They go to the Baths, Cooper Island and the Indians. I believe that New Horizons does the Baths, Marina Cay and Jost. You can only do the whole area in a day on a power boat!
Stormy Petrel is another great BVI trip. Can you suggest a good day trip just to Jost Van Dyke? Thanks.
My vote is for Captain Nautica. They run a very professional operation and I've been on both their BVI run and the half-day St. Thomas/St. John excursion. I think one of their "plusses" is that the trip is limited to maximum 16 passengers, thus it's not overcrowded. Their boats and equipment are very well-kept and maintained, and their staff is delightful, helpful and knowledgeable.
As Marty said, you can go to their website at www.captainnautica.com.for details.
Have a great trip whichever you choose!
