Sail or motor? How many other passengers would you want to have on the boat with you?

My two favorite are the New Horizons II www.newhorizonscharters.com and Captain Nautica www.captainnautica.com. Both are excellent trips with less than 20 passengers each for a full day, snorkel gear included, drinks on board, lunch ashore (bring money for this). Don't forget your passports!

Our favorites are New Horizons II and Breakaway. They are power boats, go to four islands in a day, The Baths at Virgin Gorda, Guana Island for snorkeling, Marina Cay for lunch, Jost Van Dyke for rest of the afternoon. If you are looking to sail, I would go with Daydreamer, they have a great trip over to Jost Van Dyke and have lunch at Foxy's, then to White Bay for rest of the afternoon. Have fun!

We researched this for our last trip in November and couldn't find any option other than taking a party boat, renting a boat with a captain for a private trip or the public ferry over to Virgin Gorda. You can check the schedule above under Plan Your Trip I think for the ferry. We opted to take the Limnos Charter trip to the Baths which turned out to be fantastic. Big boat, lots of room, friendly staff, good food, drinks included but NOT a drunk/party boat crowd. We went to the Baths via Spanishtown which was cool because we got to see a little of the rest of that island on the way to the Baths. After the Baths we went snorkling around the Caves of Norman's Island which was great. NO side trips to any bars, not that Foxy's isn't worth a trip because it is! If you were a great boater and were familiar with the islands, you could rent your own power boat, but it is a good trip from the USVIs and I wouldn't recommend it unless you had a Captain with you.

We did the Limnos trip 2 weeks ago and we had a fantastic time...I didn't book until we got there because I was having such a hard time making up my mind between Limnos and NHII in part because we had our 12-yr old daughter with us and we didn't want to get into a party atmosphere. I was very glad we went with Limnos, it was a great trip, very relaxing, FANTASTIC crew and a great lunch. There were twice as many people on the boat compared to NHII but the boat is big and it didn't feel crowded at all. They're rates recently went up and I think it's now $110 for adults (they had quoted me the old price by email a while back before they're rate increase and they honored it). If you mention you saw their website on the internet you can get 10% off (adult rates only).

For our trip to the Baths we sailed on Stormy Petrel, and had no complaints whatsoever. Definately will go with them again!

For our trip to JVD, we just took the passenger ferry.
