I read in Tim's waiting 20 years for St. John, that he wished he would've went to the British Virgin Islands. I'm staying in St. John in October for 5 days, is it worth it to take one of the days and go to the BVI??? If so, any suggestions once there. Also, how do we get over there, what is the best way. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Lisa -

We just got back from staying in STJ - we took a day cruise through Limnos, found they had the best rate package, and went to Virgin Gorda and saw the Bathes - LOVED it!! The cruise leaves STT but it comes and picks people up in STJ if that is where you are staying. They picked us up in STJ around 8 - they provide drinks all day long for you and lunch along with muffins and such for breakfast. The cruise takes you to the Bathes and then you stop and snorkel in the caves which is also part of the BVI - all snorkel gear is provided as well...I would definintely do this trip again. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions please feel free to email me.

If I was only staying on STJ for 5 days, I probably wouldn't include a trip to the BVI, especially if it was my first time there. There's much to do and see on STJ. You certainly wouldn't find yourself saying: that was great, but I wish I'd gotten to the BVI. On the other hand, if you would go, you'd certainly enjoy it. But it's not necessary to include the BVI in order to feel you've had a really great trip.
