We are hosting a large group next weekend and Iam looking for a good recipe for bushwackers, maybe something that can be made up in a large batch, and even frozen would be good.
I made some from a recipe I got off the net but they were very strong! so I added ice cream , as suggested and they just weren't as good.
I know, I know, sipping one standing in the caribbean water and having one on the banks of the Mississippi River just isn't the same! Any ideas?
Lolly: Bushwackers ARE strong! Here is a recipe from a charter boat friend- you could just multiply for larger groups! (P.S. nothing non-alcoholic is supposed to go in a Bushwacker!)
Bailey's Irish Creme 3/4 oz
Kahlua 1/2 oz
Amaretto 1/2 oz
Vodka 1 1/2 oz
Light rum 1/2 oz
Blend with ice, add fresh grated nutmeg.
East Ender
Thank you for the recipe, maybe my problem is an old blender as all the ones I've had were the consistency of a milk shake and I just didn't get that. Wish I would have picked up nutmeg while were down there, it is on my list for Feb.
Thanks again!
Here's one I got off a handy refrigerator magnet I found in Tortola. Very similar to EastEnder's recipe.
Bailey's 1 1/2 oz
Amaretto 1 oz
Kahlua 1 oz
Vodka 1 oz
Coconut Rum 1/2 oz
Blend with lots of ice until thick.
Drizzle chocolate syrup down the inside of the glass before you pour it in, top with whipped cream and sprinkle nutmeg or cinammon on top.
lolly, go to woodysseafood.com and click on cocktail recipes at the bottom of the page, "good stuff there"
Thank you all!!!! I loved Woodys site, not just for the recipes but for stupid questions from customers, they should forward that to Jay Leno. How about stupid things overheard at the beach? I heard a woman say to her husband " you know they have ferries to all these islands why don't they just build bridges?!" or they could just tighten the chains between them! enuf
