Hi everyone -

My husband and I are having a party this weekend with some friends to celebrate our recent marriage on St. John (the big day was in May). We absolutely loved drinking Bushwackers and wanted to share them with our friends. I just did a quick seach and it seems that every recipe I have found is different in some way. What is the best recipe to follow? Your help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Kristie

Hi Kristie,

Tell you what....send all the recipes you've researched to me. I volunteer to test them all very thoroughly and post the results....assuming I stumble my way back to the computer afterwards! 😎

Seriously, I've always liked equal parts of Bailey's, Amaretto, Kahlua, Vodka, and Coconut Rum. Blend with lots of ice until thick. Drizzle chocolate on the inside of the glass, top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of either cinnamon or nutmeg. Yummm!!

Enjoy,

WW

My hubby is a connoisseur of bushwackers. He swears the best is at the Jolly Roger Inn in Tortola. Here's the recipe attached. Of course, you can't make it as good at home since it's all about LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.

Bailey's Irish Cream
Amaretto
Kahlua
Vodka
Grand Marnier
Lots of ice
Freshly grated nutmeg
Fill blender 3/4 full with ice. Add a small splash of vodka, and a small splash of Grand Marnier, a healthy serving of Kahlua, and a slightly less healthy splash of amaretto. Fill with Bailey's until ice is almost covered. Blend until smooth. Pour into hurricane glasses and grate fresh nutmeg on top.

Kristie, Congrats on your nuptials in paradise!

The hubby and I have tried various versions of Bushwacker recipes. Even on St. John the recipes are different... Woody's different than Shipwreck is different than Morgan's Mango is different than Pastory... you get the point. Dan and I found the best recipe was mixing a few versions together. Here's how we like them:
1 OZ. VODKA
1 OZ. BAILEY'S IRISH CREAM
1 OZ. KAHLUHA
1.5 OZ. COCONUT RUM
1 OZ. CRÈME DE CACAO
½ OZ. AMERETTO

Blend with ice
Drizzle a daiquiri glass with chocolate syrup
Top with whipped cream and cherry

Have fun at your party! - Lisa in CT

OH MY!! THEY ALL SOUND YUMMY. I might have to kick my beer to the curb.

PLUS - ANYTHING WITH CREME DE CACAO IS GOOD.

Thanks all for your help. I can't wait to try the recipes out - I might have to do a little taste-testing before the party :)!
