Is anyone familiar with this hotel in Charlotte Amalie? We are considering spending a couple nights there on an upcoming trip.

We have used it before. It is fine for 1-2 nights, central location (2 blocks from the ferry), reasonable rate and clean but not what I would call a vacation destination. We stayed there while waiting for our STJ villa to become avaialble.

It's clean, convenient and just one block from Main Street. I wouldn't wander around there at 3 a.m., but it's not as bad as John makes it out to be, IMHO. I go by it 3 or four times a day and I have never witnessed anything that would make someone not want to stay there....of course, I don't walk around there at 2 a.m., either! Haha!

Marty, does the same hold true of the area around the Green Iguana? It may be the same area for all I know.

Hello Padlin,

Green Iguana is by Blackbeards Castle, its on top of the hill. Bunker Hill Guest house is on the side of the hill. So yes same general area however, its really the area at the bottom of the hill (Garden Street) that folks are wary of walking around at night.
