Anyone use this yet? Been seeing ads for it and wonder if it delivers as promised. Supposedly combines sunscreen with a bug repellant. If anyone's tried this, how well does it work and how long does it last? The regular Bullfrog spray sunblock claims 8 hours of waterproofness.

Just as an aside to, "Bullfrog spray sunblock claims 8 hours of waterproofness," the FDA hasn't jumped on sunblock manufacturers for many years and is apparently formulating new guidelines for their advertising which apparently has got way out of hand with claims that are vastly overrated and exaggerated. They are recommending VERY LIBERAL application of any sunblock/sunscreen to the skin at least half an hour prior to exposure (finding that the majority of users apply it way too sparingly) and reapplying it liberally after swimming and/or perspiring.

That said, and in answer to the meat of the question, unless you're on a beach surrounded by thick vegetation after a heavy rain or close to any stagnant water, you won't find much of a biting insect problem during the day. The sand fleas usually start coming out around dusk and by that time you'll probably be enjoying your cocktail elsewhere. Cheers!

My daughter tried it while at camp. She now looks like she has a bad case of chicken pocs

I'd stick with Gin 🙂

I'm not familiar with the bug repellant sunblock, but while my dermatologist was buring off what I call my pre-cancerous lesions and he calls "age related boo-boos" I asked him what brand of sunscreen was the best. He said he only uses Bullfrog because it lasts for hours in the water and won't sweat off. I thought that was good info to pass along.

I believe Consumer Reports gave it quite a low rating.

Ocean Potion is the best stuff, but I don't think they have a bug repellant product. Could be wrong. Their Aloe lotion is the best and cheap too. CHeck it out out http://www.wavejammer.com/catalog/sun/index.shtml . Sorry this is not a plug. (well it sort of is, but they need the business ... and Ocean Potion truly is a fine product line). Cheers, G.
