Decided to try Gin for noseeums and it doesn't work. Also tried 100 % deet, didn't work. Tried Skin-so-soft, didn't work.

The only thing that worked was a spray made locally by somebody who lives on the Island. That helped alot.

This was in Sanibel, Florida, which some people refer to as "Sanibug".

My neice has the bottle and if anybody is interested, I will check it out and try to see if it can be bought on line.

The bugs were so bad down there that 2 people with us are covered in welts.

Still....no place like the virgin islands in my mind.

I would love to know what it is and where I might be able to purchase some. Thanks, KK

Heard the "latest" for anti-skeeters is 1000 mg a day for a couple of weeks prior to the trip of ... GARLIC pills! Is supposed to work marvelously!

Here's a locally made bug spray that's supposedly very good. Is this the one?

No Ms...this was made in Sanibel, Florida by a guy who lives there. Was sold at the bait shop.

I'm going to check it out today and will get back to all.

Hey Mia......

I contacted the bait place that it was bought at. As far as he knew, you could not buy it online, but he said that he would ask ups if it could be shipped from his store.

I'll contact you if i find out anything else.

My neice who was covered everywhere with welts from noseeums said it's the only thing that has ever worked for her. Those things were nasty.

We just got back from STJ yesterday and the only place mosquitos were are a problem was at our villa. We used the mosquito bug bands after reading an article in the Dallas Morning News and they worked great. They would swarm but not bite. At night we would place a couple on the headboard of the bed and it kept them away as well. We had a blast as usual.

I have to laugh when this bug band says that it's not for sale in Colorado! What, they can't guarantee against West Nile, which has infected 5 people in our area in the last week?

Just got a forward yesterday with another idea for a bug repellant. Listerine. Spray in the yard or area you are and that's it! If someone had tried it, let us know!
