What is the best way to get to Buck Island? We will be staying near Christiansted. Which tour operator do you recommend?

Thank you.

I've taken the Big Beard tour twice, and was pleased. The full-day excursion, however, isn't really worth it. Just do the half day, you get the same amount of time on the island either way.

Lots of good info here:

Capt. Heinz on the Terroro also gets high marks for Buck Island tours.

Call Miles and Emily at Caribbean Sea Adventures/Christiansted. They have the best operation going there. Best boats too. You'll enjoy the trip, it's BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

My family went to St. Croix and went for the 1/2 day tour with Teroro 11 with Capt. Heinz. His daughter and him both took us on their large sailboat with a motor. We motored out and used the sail coming back. He was very friendly and professional. We had plenty of time at the island and bring your own lunch. His website is visitstcroix.com/heinz. I scrap-booked our vacation so I kept his brochure. I loved snorkeling there best on all the island.
have fun1

Here is another vote for Capt. Heinz on the Terroro II. I had my kids (8,13,17) and friend (18), wife and brother (we're all too old to mention ages) on a day trip with Capt. Heinz and the beautiful Melanie. It was a very windy day, we sailed both ways, about as fast as a sailboat can go. The snorkeling was incredible, and Capt. Heinz is laid back and very experienced. Everyone had a day trip to remember for a lifetime. It was a great combination of a beautiful place, and wonderful people.
