Can we bring a couple of bottles of champagne when we fly into STT?
Of course you can!
But why would you when it's so inexpensive here????
Examples??
Don't forget to bring some sand too. hehehe
Hard liqour is definitely cheaper but not so with wine. I noticed that cost of wine is the same if not a bit more plus you do not have the same variety you get on the mainland. I do not know about champagne. Perhaps if you post the brand you intend to bring someone on this board might be able to check out availability and price on their next shopping trip?
I'll 'fess up that I habitually take a bottle of an inexpensive creme de menthe ($4.99) down with me for a nightcap because that particular liqueur is hard to find on island. Occasionally I've taken wine. I have never seen any wine price in the islands that was not at least several dollars higher than could be found in the states, and the selection is limited.
My advice would be, if you have a special champagne, the room to pack it, and you're not afraid of breaking it (a $100 Dom Perignon, for example) go ahead and pack it. Yes, it is a bit like bringing coal to Newcastle, but so what 😉
