Even though the wife and I have had only one breakfast on STJ, we enjoyed Chilly Billy's. Food was good, portions large and prices reasonable.

If you're in the neighborhood, the pavilion restaurant at Maho has a good breakfast and one of the best locations on the island.

Ditto Miss Lucy's. A great meal with a view to die for.

For a quicker breakfast such as a breakfast sandwich or pastry we love Baked in the Sun up above Starfish Market! Their veggie cream cheese is sooo good.

Deli Grotto in Mongoose Junction is also great for breakfast with burritos, sandwiches, bages, pastries, and a few other more traditional scrambles and stuff!

Both are perfect for to go lunch sandwiches to take to the beach too!

Chilly Billy's was good but SLOW!!!! and the waitress barely spoke/understood english...Good food but we were there for almost 2 hrs for breakfast for 2~~~!!!! Not my idea of good service. Plus it was so HOT, even with the fans no ventilation with the awnings down...No view either. Others complained about the wait too! The place was only half full! Good thing we were on island time and the food was ultimately good. I would go back, more prepared for lousey service.
My 2 cents,
Amy

I'll suggest Tamarind Inn. They also have a different theme dinner every night.

We had breakfast at Tamarind Inn a few years ago and liked it a lot. Good food, good setting in their courtyard. Since then I somehow don't seem to remember it when we're getting breakfast in Cruz Bay. We usually end up at Chilly Billy's or JJ's, both of which I like, but not as much as I remember liking the Tamarind Inn. Maybe this will help me to remember it next time.

Donkey Diner..................very small, very busy, don't be in a hurry. The food there is fantastic, the staff always pleasant with great smiles, just don't be in a hurry. They have internet access, outdoor seating, and probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in awhile.

Miss Lucy's on Sunday for some great Banana Pancakes and Bloody Mary's in the shade by the water listening to some sounds of jazz.

And if you're super lucky having my ugly face watch you eat.

Hey Promo,
We definitely will be doing Sunday Brunch at Miss Lucy's!!! We would be honored to have you join us. You have that cute little puppy dog look!!! 🙂

This may be a stupid question, but are reservations necessary for this delicious brunch?

LOVED the Donkey Diner! We have been to St. John a bunch of time, and ventured over one morning, after hearing good things from the locals. It's one of the best breakfasts out we've had on STJ. We've been to Miss Lucy's a few times on Sundays, and just aren't wild about it. We found that the lunch-type items were better fare than the eggs and such.

Baked in the Sun was open every day we were there last week. We got an amazing birthday cake there, but never made it back for sandwiches. 🙁

The only place we had breakfast was the Westin's buffet on Sunday, and it was good but I wasn't really hungry enough to get my $22 worth!
