Ginger,

Here is one of the latest articles from June about this proposed development. They've been talking about this for a few years now.

Ginger: To many people Botany Bay ranks up there with dolphin encounters for popularity.

EE, Is Botany Bay the problem? Or, is the development of The Preserve the problem? Why would Botany Bay itself be akin the Dolphin encounters? Hasn't Botany Bay awlays been a beautiful, unspoiled place (until now)?

The Corning family is claiming that they were tricked into selling the land - not understanding that a resort would be built.

All I know is - they had better not harm any of the Green Monkeys 😉

Bluie: Yes, Botany Bay has always been unspoiled. Many hoped that someone would donate it as territorial park so that it could remain so. Instead it is going to have houses, villas and the dreaded time share. It has been a hot button for many of the more environmentally minded VIers. The developers say that it is going to be done in a sensitive manner. But not as sensitive as leaving it alone! 😉
