The Elysian is a bit more "upscale" than Bolongo, while Bolongo is more of a "fun" place to be. Generally, the clientele will be older at the Ely than at Bolongo. Where are YOU staying? Proximity to your hotel may be an influencing factor in which I would recommend. For myself (37 years old, like to drink and party, love to SCUBA and sail and play games in the sand), if I were vacationing, I would probably choose Bolongo over Elysian, due to the atmosphere being more conducive to active people, which I consider myself. Both have tennis courts, but Bolongo also has basketball, sand volleyball, horseshoes, a dive shop and services, a catamaran sailboat on site for excursions, Iggie's bar/restaurant, a Caribbean show every week, Karaoke every week...just more of an "active" kind of place. The Ely is more of a relaxing kind of place. Does that help any?

Ginger....
Unquestionably, the Elysian. I have stayed at Secret Harbor (as I know you also do) and Bolongo both. For a single 40-year-old who would want a nice unit as they are at SH, definitely tell her to opt for the Elysian - also since it is closer to SH than Bolongo. Don't get me wrong - I love our stays at Bolongo - but it can get a little wild in the evenings at Iggies and there have been a few problems there. I know all of this because I get it firsthand from "The Kid"...our son who is very happily and gainfully employed with the Doumengs. Being over-40ers who also definitely like to party and play, we still enjoy a place where we can relax in quiet when we choose. Iggies is a very good choice for an evening of great fun, however! Too bad about no room at SH...it's heaven there, isn't it?

Food is good at both of their restaurants. A little more "up scale" by the pool, than at Iggie's, but still not quite 5 star. Definitely try their Caribbean Buffet and the all-u-can-eat crab legs (Dungeness...sp?)

Ginger: She may enjoy the piano bar at Robert's at the Elysian- great music and Paige is a great bartender. The food there is good, too!

Ginger,

Thanks! I forgot to pack those items when I moved here...almost 8 years ago! My, how time flies!

I am no longer in the jewelry store. I tried retirement, but it didn't agree with my wife, so she said "Find something to do!" So I am now working in the "Information" booth on the waterfront 6 hours/day, six days a week.

As far as sales for Miracle on Main Street, what would you be looking for? Jewelry? Watches? Electonics? Perfume? Handbags? Gimme an idea of what you're looking for and I can suggest a few places for you.
