Just wondering if anyone is familiar with Bolong Bay? We are staying in a condo there and I was wondering how the beach/area is? When we went to St Thomas 3 years ago we stayed at the Emerald Bay beach hotel and that beach was great. We are looking for any helpful suggestions or advice for our vacation re: Bolong Bay and other things to do. Thanks

Bolongo Bay beach is a bit rockier at the shoreline than Emerald Beach, and most people I saw were wearing water shoes. They sell them in the gift shop, so that's an indication that it's a popular item! After you get past the small rocky area, there's plenty of sand.

Bolongo has more entertainment options than Emerald, so you can enjoy the beach at night while listening to music. The resort has something scheduled every night, I think.

I did the Heavenly Days Turtle Cove excursion from Bolongo not too long ago. They do it on Fridays and Mondays, and those are usually the days with few cruise ships in port. It was a wonderful excursion! Got to see turtles and fish, and one guy said 5 turtles came up to him when he was in the water, and he's dived in many waters of the Caribbean, and this was the best! You wouldn't want to do this when there are lots of ships in port, because Turtle Cove, that attracts the fish and the turtles is small, but yet most of the cruise ships offer the excursion so I'm sure it can get crowded!

My husband and I always stay at Bolongo Bay. Will be there the first 10 days of March. Love Iggy's Bar.
