*There is an activity that is offered on our cruise ship that is called a BOB. This is like an underwater bike that you ride while your head is under a bubble!
The cruise ship is booked solid and I need to know if there is an independant that offers the same thing? Or if the same groups offers direct booking.

Please let me know as soon as possible.

If you're on St. Thomas, contact the Aqua Action Dive Shop, which is located at the Secret Harbour Beach Resort (on the east end of the island near Red Hook). They have two BOBs for rent, and the shop is located on a great coral reef that leads into a protected water sanctuary teeming with fish. The URL for the Dive Shop is http://aadivers.com/index.html Ask for Carl -- He's the owner, great fun and a fabulously nice guy who loves what he does.

Tell them the nice woman in a wheelchair who snorkled there with her husband last December sent you.

Have Fun!

My pleasure, Keith. Be sure to get one of the underwater disposable cameras (buying them in the states before you go instead of buying in the USVI will save you anywhere between $5 and $12 per camera) and take lots of pictures that you can show us!

You can also check out signing up on your own instead of the cruise ship arranged version - http://bobusvi.com I know there's is a very structured journey under water (30 minutes per guest) and the rest of the time is spent partying on the boat. You are also tethered to a buoy that will not permit you to go deeper than 9 feet.

Secret Harbor - hmmm I had seen them there but didn't know they rented them. If they only have two for rent, then I would think perhaps their "restrictions of use" might be more relaxed - I'll call and check.

Anyone have pictures of the BOB underwater bike? If so let me know at [email protected] would you? You could attach a photo to your email if you have one. I am very interested in these bikes.

This thread is over five years old and I don't even know if this excursion is still offered here. Aqua Action at Secret Harbour is sill in operation but under new ownership - you could check out their website as has been linked on this thread and email them directly to see if they still have the BOB underwater bikes.

We no longer have the BOB/BOSS equipment at Aqua Action - and Carl is also no longer here - he moved to Florida after we purchased the business from him.

He used to take people out on Nina, our dive boat - he had a small hoist that he used to lower the bikes into the water so people could use them.

That looks kind of cool. I don't think I have ever seen that before.
