My family is flying in to San Juan and we were interested in coming over to St. Thomas by boat instead of flying. How would you recommend we do this on a frugal budget?
Thanks, Karen
There is only one ferry I know of that offers this service. " A ferry runs between Cruz Bay, St. John; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas and Fajardo. The price is $60 one way and $100 round trip. Transportation Services offers this service. The ferry leaves twice a month on Friday in the mid-afternoon. It returns on Sunday. Advance purchase is required. It is suggested you call (340)776-6282 for more details and specific dates and times."

Islander omits the fact that it is about 60 miles of open ocean that you would be traversing in one of the STJ-STT ferries. It is not known as the calmest passage...The extra $ for airfare is worth it!
Thanks for your help! is there a favorite air service you would recommend?
Thanks,
Karen
East Ender is right it is a long trip, but if you are trying to be frugal and don't mind by all means - get ready for a ride.
For flying in you can use American Airlines, There are smaller ones also, Air St. Thomas, Cape Air - try

Thanks for all your help!
