I'm interested in renting a small boat for a day in St. John. I'm fairly apt at operating all sizes of watercraft, but was unsure about my ability to navigate the reefs and channels in the islands. Any insight as to the difficulty for someone unfamiliar with the waters?

The boat rental companies will provide you with navigation charts. These charts are easy to follow; thus you should not have a problem even though the waters are unfamilar. The companies also give you tips on where to go, which will facilitate your daytrip on the boat.

Thanks for the reassurance. Any suggestions on rental companies? I've spoken to Nauti Nymph Rentals already. Others??

Try SEA and SKI they are the best, & I have used them both. SEA & Ski has newer boats, & a lot friendlier.
