I LOVE this message board. Especially when I see locals answering these questions. Makes me feel better about visiting USVI with extra confidence.

Visiting for my big birthday bash week, renting a villa. Have acquired a boat with captain who will take us where ever we want to go. Need suggestions on where to go. Have full day long trip to plan for 6 girlfriends. All love to snorkel, want to have lunch at a wonderful NOT FANCY place on the beach very remote with great good. Trip of a lifetime, want it to be memorable for all my guests. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Plenty of places to see and snorkel - depends on the wind and sea - have a discussion with your Captain explaining your preferences and it will be memorable I am sure. A lunch suggestion that fits your criteria might be Cooper Island Beach Club - it is one of my favorites. Have a great trip.

Bring your passports so you can hit the BVI...like Exit Zero said, it really depends on the conditions that day...but I would think heading out to the Baths first would be a good way to start the day if the seas are low enough...then over to Norman for some cocktails at the Willie T, some snorkeling at the Indians or the Caves (maybe you should do this before cocktails at Willie T! Haha!)), over to Sandy Cay or Sandy Spit, just cuz they are cool and you'll want a few pics...then to the Soggy Dollar on Jost...that's a pretty full day and you can get food at the Willie T or at Sogy Dollar...you can also bring along a picinic (Yogi's spelling) lunch and drinks, as they always have a big cooler on board..

If you have no passports, you can still have a great day on the water just buzzing around on STJ....very pretty and lots of places to stop for snorkeling or beaching...Coral Bay to Skinny Legs would make a fun lunch...

BVI authorities STILL accept a "certified" (raised seal) Birth Certificate if you do not have a passport.

Start off the day with a trip to The Baths (Virgin Gorda), snorkel the caves at Norman Island, and then hit up White Bay on Jost Van Dyke and grab something to eat at Soggy Dollar or Ivan's. Just my suggestion.

I agree with the above except for the part about eating at Ivan's. If you are planning to eat on Jost I would think that either the Soggy Dollar or Foxy's would be a better choice. Ivan's is a great little place to grab a few beers on the beach. Another option to consider for a stop during the day would be Cane Garden Bay on Tortola. Nice beaches and several places to have drinks. Enjoy!
