A question for the locals or anyone who has traveled to Bluebeards Beach Club and Villas. I am desperate. I posted concerning Bluebeards Beach Club and Villas and have not received any hits. I have plans to stay at this location but would like to know a little more about the property other than what I've seen on the internet. I've seen the pictures and it looks nice, not fancy, but relatively nice. Their advertisement says every room has a view. This is the first year that the wife has left the vacation planning totally up to me, I do not want to BOMB, I can do this. A view is very important to her from her room, no matter that we won't be spending a lot of time there but when we're there, she marvels at the ocean. Go figure.

Can anyone help me out..??????? Is this (BBCV) a romantic hideway...If not, can you recommend a smaller secluded area that would have great ocean views from the room, romantic atmosphere and won't cause me to mortgage my children.

Forever grateful.

All of the rooms do face the sea. That's the way it is set up. Everyone gets a view. The beach is very nice, you are on the south side of St.Thomas.

As I am unsure of your email address, if you post it here, I will be happy to email some reassurance that the Beach Club is a laid back, quiet destination where all units face the beach. Some units may have some trees between the room and the beach tho. There is one newer building that is at the end facing the curve in the beach and the lobby/restaurant which is at the other end of the cove that would give you unobstructed views and a few steps to the sand. I think that you've got prevacation jitters and the pressure is "on!" The Beach Club is not a luxury property but a modest one that can serve as a good base for your exploring the island. It is timeshare and is one of the BlueBeard's Timeshare properties on the island with the Castle and some units at the Elysian. The beach is nice with several "huts" for sun protection and altho I was told it could be choopy and bumpy was good for swimming. They've rebuilt some of the units that were originally LimeTree and I recommend that you rent a vehicle for use during your time there. There is a shuttle that runs between the 3 properties and there are some timeshare sponsored activity that happens there. The restaurant/bar there has a new owner/ operator but I think the comment below about the restaurant may have been for BlueBeard's Castle which has several restaurants. One of the favorites there for many is the Banana Tree Grille with great views. The Elysian beach has a small beach grille with good dining at Bonnie's by the Sea.
Relax, go and enjoy!

Karen,

Thanks for taking the time to respond. You are right. I do have prevacation jitters. My wife said I couldn't do it (plan the entire vacation w/o her) and of course I'm determined that I can.

You've been quite generous with your info, however, if there is anything else you care to share, it would be much appreciated. As requested I've included my E-mail address.

The wife and I just got back from BBC this morning at around 12:30 after 12 days of heaven. The place is quiet and relatively private but I agree that you do need a car to really get around and see the island(s). The only down side I had about the BBC was with the actions of some of the guests with regards to the cats that roam the island. They would put out food for them (basically garbage & some cat food) in front of some of the doors. It really isn't very attractive. Now, I have nothing against cats, I just don't like seeing garbage on my steps first thing in the morning. The units are very clean and the new owners of "Feelin' Groggy" are doing much better than the previous owners and I think that the place will do well in time if they can hang in there. Even if you don't stay there it is a nice place for an evening meal or a couple of drinks and a nice quiet romantic walk on a secluded beach (not real long but quiet). It is very pretty when the cruise ships pull out and all their lights are on. There is also an all you can eat party there on Monday nights that is a lot of fun (did it twice this year).
