Hi Gary,

Is the stone you are looking for called Larimar?

If so, it can be found all over the place on STT and STJ (and probably STX as well). You can probably purchase Larimar jewelry online as well.

I would start with a Google search.

Also, here is a link to a popular tourist publication which should provide you with the contact information for many VI jewelry stores.

Good luck :)!

When we were on St. Thomas 2yrs. ago, my husband got me a Larimar ring & earrings for our anniversary. He didn't spend alot of miney for it, & it is holding up VERY well!! I wear it everyday!

Good luck, your wife will LOVE it!

Could it be an African opal? I have a beautiful opal, tanzanite and diamond ring and bracelet that I had been wanting for years and the only place I ever saw them was in STT The opal is turquoise in color just like the beautiful waters. This was my 1 year smoke free gift from my husband and I don't dare light up again or he will probably take them away!
