Curious if the insects (particularly mosquitoes and noseeems) are a problem in late July on St. Croix or if they send them all to St. John? Also are there any other creepy crawly things I should be aware of (insect variety) that bite or sting?

Not sure if the mosquitoes or noseems are any worse on STX vs. STJ, but I do know that centipedes can leave a nasty sting.

The quantity of misquitos depends on the amount of rain. The no no's are generally within a half mile of the beach

So Wolf,
If we have bugs are ya still gonna come? Yes, we have them! Spiders, Centipedes, Scorpions, Red Ants, Cockroaches and more!
Really tho, the chances of you seeing some of these critters is pretty rare. Have a great time!

I will be there bugs or no bugs:) Rain or shine! Just want to be prepared...we were in St. John last June and they were not a problem, but didn't know if July is more buggy and if they prefer one island over another because of the vegetation or what not. I will come armed with citronella and off just in case.
