we will be visiting the island the end of January. Are you aware of guides who take people on birding tours of the island?
You might take a look at this website:
www.birdsofparadisestcroix.com
Or contact the St. Croix Environmental Association (SEA). 340-773-1989 They sometimes plan bird watching walks. I believe this is their website:
www.stxenvironmental.org
There aresure plenty of stray chickens on the island!
Sea is actually hosting something the first weekend in February.
St. Croix Environmental Association (SEA) will hold a bird rehabilitation program February 3 from 9 to 11am. This is a very interesting opportunity to see Falconer Toni Lance's work with endangered and other bird species at her home on the south shore. The activity is free for members and a small fee for non-members. Pre-registration is required and limited to 20 participants, with a minimum age of 8. Please call (340) 773-1989 to register and get directions.
