We are stying there for our honeymoon and were wanting some input. We are trying to keep it pretty inexpensive and we got 5 nights for $800 and wanted to know if this is a good deal. A friend said that the beach there wasn't good and that it was close to where all of the cruise ships came in. I know that it is close to the airport which I don't mind. Any suggestions?!? Thanks and I am so pumped to come to the islands in May!

EBR is OK, the beach is not bad, just not a tourist "destination" like Megans or Coki. You will have plenty of time in 5 days to do the other beaches. For $800.00 lodging it is reasonable.

For the price it can't be beat in my opinion. I don't know about your friend saying the beach was bad because I loved it when I stayed there last Sept. It may not be a Trunk Bay beach, but it was still pretty nice. Then again, I'm from land locked northern Indiana so almost any beach is nice to me...hehe. It's still white sand and emerald blue/green water. The airport is right next door, but even that wasn't too bad...there are barely any flights in or out after dark. The ships (cruise or cargo) are pretty far out since Lindbergh Bay is pretty large. It's not like they're pulling up next to the hotel or anything. 🙂

I'm all about saving money so I'll more than likely stay there again in the future. To me, it might not be the best hotel in the islands, but it's still better than a lot of hotels I've stayed at that were supposed to be nice in the states.

Kate,

The beach there is acutally pretty nice. And whoever told you it is where all the cruise ships come in is just mistaken. Most of the cruise ships dock at Havensight, which is probably at least 5 miles away. A few do go to Crown Point, but rarely more than one in a day, and most days none.

The one thing that some might find objectionable about the BW is that it is RIGHT at the airport. (If you were traveling light, you could literally walk there in 5 minutes). So there is some issue of noise, but if you are comfortable with that, then you should be golden.

Have fun.
