*what months are the best to travel to the islands ( no bad weather)?
Our weather is typically the same year 'round, with a variation of about 6 degrees from the hottest part of summer, to the coldest part of winter. The weather reports always say rain, so no need to worry when you see that. It does rain everyday, but usually for about 15-20 minutes, then it's back to blue skies and sunshine...with rainbows! Try to avoid September, as that is the height of hurricane season. But they can happen as early as June , and as late as December. But, watch the Weather Channel's "Tropical Update" at :50 after each hour about a week before you come and you will have an idea if you will have anything to worry about. Click the "Weather" link in the upper right corner of your screen some good info.
I'm not a local, so I don't have firsthand knowledge, but I've heard from an outfitter on the island that the water temps are warmest in spring. The island is supposed to be less crowded then, too, and after June 1 many of the hotel/condo rates go down. I think spring is the beginning of the wetter season weatherwise, though.
Water temps are warmest in July, August, September and October, but, the coldest, in February, is only about, what? 7 degrees colder? Not enough for visitors to be concerned about, really.
