Hi everyone,

My wife and I want to go back to STX. We were there last May on a cruise and it was great. What is the best time of the year to visit? Weather, less crowded, best rates, Etc.? Appreciate any advice.

Tony

Hi Toni!

We leave for St. Thomas In January and stay 3 to 4 months. We have a condo. We have been on the island all different times and have never found one time any different then another. It is always beautiful. Of course during the winter monthhs in the States more people visit the islands and things are a little more active. My advise is if you go during hurricane season check the weather reports. Hurricanes heading towards the island can now be predicted weeks in advance. It is 83 today both air and water temp.
So, pack up and head on out.

Joe

My very favorite time here is April. Hard to explain but it is Chamber of Commerce weather and everything is blooming. That's St Thomas however - St. Croix may be different.

Hello Tony,

During off season you will get the best rates (May-Oct or thereabouts). Wouldn't worry to much about crowds, but would about lack of during the slowest of off season, Aug-Sept, as stores open later or not at all and some restaurants close until season starts up again - so you might miss out because its too quiet.

Check out our weather section, it covers temps, rain, hurricanes... at the top right side of this page click on the weather link. The late summer months are very hot, if you aren't used to it you might find it too hot. Aug-Nov are the rainier months of the year.

Happy Planning.
