Hi everyone,

We're leaving for St. Thomas in 2 weeks. What is the best place to have Sunday Brunch on St. Thomas? We're a family of 4... kids are 16 and 12.

We'll be staying at the Marriott, and I hear Windows Restaurant there has a great Sunday brunch. I've also heard the Ritz has a great brunch. Is one better than the other? Is the Ritz brunch pricier?

We're are going to try not to "break the bank" on dining for this trip, so we're happy to hear about other Sunday brunch options around the island as well (we'll have a car). Are there other places with a nice view, good food, etc. We'll be on St. John on days other than Sunday, so I don't think we'll be doing brunch over there.... will have to hit Miss Lucy's next time!

Thank you!!

Carole

SCT:

We tried the Sunday Brunch at the Ritz two years ago....I think it was about $25./person + tip.

As I recall the breakfast was very good.

We also go to Molly Malone's (Red Hook) for breakfast. It's not a "brunch", but still very good.

Thanks Bluwater and Future Islander,

I called Marriot recently and they said that their brunch is $35 per person, and 1/2 price for children 12 and under. I'm wondering how much more the Ritz would be, and whether or not it is any better.

But we might just decide we don't need that much food. For a family of 4 (one child being 12), the Marriott's buffet would run $123 + tax and tip.... maybe we should consider Molly Malone's instead.

Try Hook, Line, and Sinker Frenchtown. You will love their lobster omelet! They only do brunch on Sundays.

You can always do IHOP if you miss mainland style food.

Just checked some previous trip notes and found that Ritz brunch was $74 pp. I was also there a couple of years ago and I think it was $65 pp then.. FI, you may have gotten the "local" rate if you paid $25pp. 😉

So, Ritz....$74 pp + tax and tip. Kids are $30 pp.

It is a spectacular buffet......everyone will have to form their own opinions about whether or not it is worth it.

We were at the "outside" restaurant......I wouldn't say that it was anything spectacular...it was nice, but......also, it may have been 3 years ago......are you going to make me look for the receipt????? Mrs. F.I.'s filing system leaves a little to be desired (lol) so it may take a while.

Ritz has their cafe breakfast for about $28 pp every day of the week. It is pretty good. Their Sunday Brunch is different, it's $75 pp, and has lobster, sushi, etc. But sadly, I am 99% sure they are done with the sunday brunch for the season. I called last weekend and they said it was over, but they might do it for father's day?

To answer the original question, I like Ritz's daily breakfast better than Windows on the Harbor's brunch. But they are pretty comparable, and the Windows has a/c which is nice this time of year. Windows on the Harbor also has a breakfast buffet. The sunday brunch has champagne, juices, a whole roasted pig, some pasta salads, seafood salad, some hot dishes (fish, chicken), TONS of desserts, some bagels and donuts, and melons. Ritz's breakfast is more breakfasty, much like Windows' breakfast. Just comparing breakfasts, Ritz has more variety of fruit and cheese.

Thanks everyone...

Ron, I will look into Hook, Line, and Sinker... had that one the list for a possible dinner, but will look into it for Sunday brunch.

Blu - $74 eek! May not matter anyway if they are finished for the season (we're going the week AFTER Father's Day watergrrl).

Kimberleysea - we did have Miss Lucy's on the list, but we're going over to St. John 3-4 other days that aren't Sunday. If things get switched around, we definitely will do Miss Lucy's and get there around 9:30 for an outside table by the water.

Patrick - no IHOP for this trip , but you're right... that might be the kids' choice!

How much does the Westin on STJ charge for their breakfast? Just curious.
