Matty,

Gotta elaborate more. For lunch? Dinner? Brunch? Local? Continental? Romantic?Ecclectic? View? There are so many it all depends on what exactly you are looking for. We can help you more if you are much more specific.

Agree with Patrick ... Matty give us at least a sentence in your questions 🙂 St. Thomas has many restaurants.. and if you asked folks here on this board which are the best you are going to get a list of at least 10-15 restaurants...

Use Patricks types (Romantic, Nice View, Food Cost, Local Food.... to help use out a bit - and youll get plenty recommendations)

Islander, you didn't ask me but my favorite over on St John is Chateau Bordeaux. We've had several great meals there but the best was April '02. Unbelieveable views, great service and mouthwatering food. I'm hungry just thinking about it.

Best Restaurants...I agree with all the ones the Islander made. In addition to Lindys at the Mafoile Hotel. Nice view and excellent food.

Kimberly,
Lindy's no longer exists. And, from what I heard, the owners apparently burned a lot of bridges before skipping town on numerous debts.
But have no fear...the Mafolie Hotel has recently opened their bar and restaurant so you can still enjoy the best view on the island.

No restaurant for us last night. 4 hours of sleep the night before then the flight from NJ-NC-STT with 2 kids (5&2) kinda wear you out. So it was my mother-in-law's home cooking...... spaghetti and meatballs with spicy italian sausage, salad, garlic bread and a nice bottle of wine. topped off with desert. Was I stuffed. Slept like a baby afterwards. Waking up every two hours and crying. LOL.... just kidding.

As for favorite restaurants, all of the above listed by islander and also like Hook Line and Sinker for the casual lunch or easy dinner when not looking for anything fancy.

Will keep you posted on how it goes. So far at this point I think I am losing the weight watching game. 😉

Onika,
Wow, didn't know that! I had a wonderful meal just in November. I always admired the location....even back when it was the Frigate.

Kimberly, are we thinking of the same location for Lindy's?
B/C when I stayed in the Mafolie in April '02, Lindy's was already a distant memory. And the Mafolie restaurant just opened recently.

Onika,
I guess I am loosing my mind! I think I better take my vacation now and not Nov. (I wish). I am going to check my pictures and see what the date says. I remember taking a picture after dinner. I'm certain we are talking about the same place-- at the Mafoile. The hostess even recongized us because she use to work at another restaurant we also frequent while we are on vacation there.
Do you know the name of the new restaurant?

The hotel and the new restaurant bear the same name---Mafolie. It overlooks Charlotte Amalie from Mafolie Hill. The parking is on the street and you walk down steps to the restauant area. When you enter the rest. there is a bar occupying the left side, with some tables, but the majority of rest. seating is on the right side. It is all open thereby maximizing the view over the harbor.
You may not be losing your mind (haha), it could be that the rest. was open back in November and time is just flying by for me!
