Hi! I have choice to stay at the Divi Carina bay resort or Sunterra resort on Carambola beach, both are in St. Croix. I am also considering the Elysian Beach resort in St Thomas. Can anyone suggest anthing? I will be going in May.

Thanks

Both the Carambola and The Divi are excellent choices. But to fine tune your decision it really depends upon what you desire in a resort. Both places are relatively isolated. The Divi has gambling while the Carambola does not. The Carambola has a better swimming (IMHO)and is more tropical but the Divi (again IMHO) has a better pool and a beter beach. The water is so-so. Don't forget about the Buccannner which is my pick for being a nice balance between the two.

Have you been to St Martin at all? If so, which side did you enjoy most French or Dutch?) I am so confused, I guess I want to have a place to relax and get pampered while at the same token go to a few clubs, enjoy nice shopping, food and the works. I was told that the french side of st martin is good. Have anymore suggestions for me?

We went to St. Maarten this past October and stayed on the Dutch side. We found them more friendly than the French side. We stayed at the Princess de Plaissance which has a casino and was nice accommodations. The casino had a good buffet dinner there. Really good food (grilled barbequed ribs and chicken, potato salad--delicious) can be found at Lee's Grill along the main road from the airport--reasonably priced.
