We're only a few weeks away and starting to line up the fine details of trip planning. So we have to ask. Where can we find the best Mojito on STT.

So many great places to get drinks! If you are flying through Peurto Rico, the home of the Mojito, I'd try one theirs to have a baseline for taste testing. I don't know what part of the island that you are staying at, but Duffy's serves up some pretty great Mojito's, They are on the east end in Red Hook.

I think Cuba would probably be a better answer, but if you are flying from the states the plane will probably not stop in Havana for you
http://www.mojitocompany.com/pages.php?pageid=4 🙂 😉 🙂 But maybe in a few years

You know in all my years going to the VIs not sure I ever had mojito

If you make it over to St. John, head straight to Joe's Rum Hut. Its right near the ferry dock. They have the best mojitos I've ever tried......and I certainly drank enough of them to know!! 😛

TomB,

You are absolutely right. What was I thinking? I'll see if I can find the previous thread about the best Mohito recipe's, you'v got to try one. I usually have one before I fly to calm my nerves and my stomach. The mint leaves are excellent at settling an upset stomach. If you ask me, it should be included with the Bloody Mary as a "hair of the dog" remedy.

Greetings. I greet you as the "official mojito expert" of St thomas 🙂 (ask Sherri!) I have written entire pages of trip reports about mojitos (almost) 🙂

Best one: Havana Blue (Cuban restaurant at Marriott Frenchman's Reef) - they have flavors like mango and their signature drink "Bluejito" (Blueberry mojito)

Second Best (and much less expensive and still very, very good) : Indigo (again, ask Sherri 🙂 )

Now to mention it, I do make a great Mojito.... I have wild mint growing in my back yard here in Michigan. Can I legally bring a few sprigs in my luggage to STT? I will definately try out Havana Blue and Indigo. We will report back when we return after Memorial Day

Blaze,

I can't help but laugh, you're bringing your own herbs to the USVI! I wonder what customs would think, of course it's legal, but if they open your luggage and find a little baggie of herbs you may need to convince them.

First it was bringing alcohol to the VI and now herbs...
I'd love to comment but I'm off to Newcastle and must pack my coal.

Yes, Bluwater is THE one person who turned me on to Mojito's!! Had no clue they existed! Now when I do arrivals for villas, I tell our guests just what places have them! Bet you didn't know that Blu!!! lol! Waiting for Blu's return so we can have some! Nice to see you showed up!
Chris at work, you were right, this is the one subject that would get Blu's attention!!!! 🙂 Thanks Blaze for starting this thread!

Last trip we took with ALL our kids (to a "different" island) and some friends (12 of us) I knew we'd be doing alot of BBQing and cooking in our timeshare. I brought little zip locks of spices. I brought a little of everything from my stash at home. Looked very strange kinda like dime bags!!! Got thru customs with no problems!!! and my luggage smelled great!

Fresh mint is regularly available in supermarkets on STT - Cost U Less, Plaza Xtra, Marina Market anyway. I have a potful of local mint in the yard so I guess now's the time (on a day off) to do some experimenting and see what I can come up with. Only problem is I don't drink so will have to go by smell - oh well, maybe a TEENY little sip. Chores first! Welcome back, Blu - did you get buried in a big winter hole?

We can concur with the answers for STT, BUT this time we are going to STX at the end of June. Just finished bbq'ing some babyback ribs and had a couple of homemade Mojitos. So the new question is @) where is the BEST MOJITO ON STX!!!!!
