Any recommendations from the board for the best "local" places.

All types of joints work for us... the fanciest uptown... the wife can bust out the Manolo's ....to the diviest (sp?) little juke joint

Hello Wahoo Willy,

You asked about St. John in your other post so I am assuming thats where you are going. If not let us know which island.

St. John is a bust out your flip flops and leave youf manolos at home type of place. 🙂 But there are definately some higher end restaurants where dressing up would be appropriate.

Restaurants... Stone Terrace, Lime Inn and maybe Morgan's Mango & The Fish Trap. For picnic foods and breakfast try Simply Feast (its a small grocery store with deli area).

For the funky little places you can try Duffys and Woodys. For a little reggae vibes you can try Fred's. Head to Skinny Legs and Island Blues in Coral Bay; both casual.

I haven't got a clue about the Manolos, but fancier St John restaurant include Stone Terrace and Zozo's, although I am hearing good things about Tage, too. Also Chateau Bordeaux for excellent views (early arrival). Lime Inn always has wonderful food.

If you're on STT: Craig & Sally's in Frenchtown. Oh. My. God. One of the top ten, world wide, hands down, best freakin' dinners I have ever had (quail with peanut sauce and Thai noodles). This, despite the fact that we ate at the bar because it was so crowded. I still dream about the after dinner coffee, too. Wonderful. And it was DECAF!

Upscale, but not too expensive. Amazing. Highly recommend.

On STX: Kendrick's or Savant. The all-you-can-eat Friday night buffet at Carambola is also a good deal. PLUS--you get mocko jumbies and the fire-eatin' guy dancing on broken Heineken bottles.

I'm also going to add Herve on STT.

Their sea bass made me swoon.

Quiet, intimate, upscale, nice views of Charlotte Amalie.
