I am coming to STT for a week in June, next month, and can't wait. I am planning a day trip to BVI but I don't know which company to use. Any suggestions? I have looked into Stormy Petrel, New Horizons II, Limnos, Sandspur Charters, and captain nautica but I can't decide which one to use. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge about any of these or which one they would prefer? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I've only had experience with the Stormy Petrol. We had a wonderful time. We started off in Red Hook, picked up a few more passengers in STJ (they can accommodate up to 12) and off we went to the BVI's. Our captian (so sorry, I can't remember his name but he was great) was very informative and told us about the history of the islands as we passed them. When we arrived on Virgin Gorda, we gave the first mate our passports and $20 and he did all of the work with customs. We stopped at the Bath's and took a tour, they were again very knowledgable. As we sailed to Cooper Island the captian handed out lunch menu's and preordered. Our meal was delicious and hot and ready for us on arrival. After a lazy lunch and enjoying the new friends that we had met for the day we went to the caves at Norman Island. Great place for snorkeling, all sorts of underwater creatures. We had a great day and I'm hoping to do it again soon.

We've done Palm Tree Charters with Capt. John Brandi twice last year and are planning to go with him again in November. He's a great Captain and his boat, Palma Bella, is very comfortable.

Lion in Da Sun is a similar operation.

What week in June are you going to be there? We will be there 15-21, and have booked a charter with Lion in da Sun.

If you do take a look at Captain Nautica, call them and see if anything has changed from their currently-operating website information (www.captainnautica.com) They are under new ownership and I understand the operation may have changed.
