We have been to St. Thomas on numerous occasions, but only during July. We are considering another trip this year in November that is centered around the Thanksgiving holiday.
My question concerns the beaches and crowds. I know that during the summer, popular beaches like Magen's Bay and Trunk Bay St. John are very crowded on cruise ship days, but very peaceful on non-cruise ship days. Is there any difference in that trend during November? Are there THAT many more people who stay on the island during that time that would make the beaches crowded during non-cruise ship days?
November is the start of high season but the major rush starts mid to late December. You'll see more activity than in July but I don't think enough to make you gasp! Magens (no apostrophe!) is always busy around the concession area when multiple cruise ships are in port but there's always plenty of space further down the beach. St John just gets busier and busier and a major comment from visitors about lack of space on the popular beaches (and lack of parking) attests to that. It's a far cry from what it used to be!
Just check the cruise ship schedule to avoid the rush!
