I have a trip to St. John planned. I'm arriving on Saturday, September 11. A friend just told me that the beaches on St. John were closed. He said they could not be opened until water quality tested were performed. Is this true?

Beaches don't close. DPNR always does check water quality after a storm and reports which beaches are safe to swim. Some people don't feel comfortable swimming until after the all clear, some do.

the water quality notices are supposed to be posted here http://www.dpnr.gov.vi/notices.htm but like every other VI govt agency they are inept.
