Heading to St John next Saturday. I was talking to someone that had recently been to St Thomas and they said there is a beach near Red Hook that has a party every Sunday. Anyone have an idea what beach it is, how far from Red Hook, and is it worth a trip over to St Thomas? Thanks in advance!

Destini,

The Sunday beach party is at Sapphire Beach Resort, a short cab ride from the ferry, no more than 5 minutes. If you want to experience that kind of fun afternoon while in the Caribbean, with drinks and food and music and happy people all on a beautiful beach and there's nothing similar on St. John, then it is definitely worth the trip.

What time is the beach party? Can anyone show up? What is the dress like?

Hello Marci,

The music is from 2:30-6:30pm or thereabouts. Yes anyone can go. The music is at the beachbar which is open air onto the beach.

Folks attenending swim, lay in the sand, eat, play volleyball, dance, listen to music... so you have some in swimwear, some in shorts, sundresses... and there are always some that are just there for the music and not the beach and they might be in jeans/slacks/capris... a little more dressy then the beach goers.
